Light A Candle Event

#Dec7Protest

Light a candle event

An easy, discrete and Christmassy way to participate in the global protest against family splitting policies on December 7th.

It can be difficult and frightening to arrange a protest to participate in the global protest. Here is an idea to how you can arrange something if you are just a few people in your local area.

- Get in contact with a small group of people in the local area who wants to participate in a "light a candle event" on December 7.

- Decide on a place in your local area that is  well suited. A place witch will be dark enough at night for the candles to light up. A place that is not to busy, but yet not to empty.

- Decide on a time for the event (preferably after dark)

- Declare the event to us in the arranging group so that we can put it on the list.

- Maybe create a Facebook event (not required)

- Get some candles that will not easily blow out in the wind.

- Make a card or a letter with the wishes and thoughts to the children who have been taken away from their families and to the families and relatives who had there kids taken away. If you had your own kids taken away than make letters or cards about that.

- On the 7th of December meetup up at the place that you have have decided upon on the time that you have decide upon. Light your candles and put down your letters or cards next to the candles. Hang out for an hour or so. Talk to each other and to people passing by.

- When you are finished with the event take your candles and letter with so that the place is left nice and tidy.

A small event like that does not need to be cleared with the authorities.
